Shores of the Unconscious

Funding: The Swedish Research Council

A project around the significance of water. The installation makes references to the unconscious and deeply symbolic meaning of water to people in different times at different places on Earth.

I collected sand and stones from seven shores that were important to me in my life. Relating to this, an old wooden kayak was hanged from the roof, covered with crocheted hemp yarn over a dried out bottom of a sea. The kayak silently swings over the sand waves. The moon is resting in it´s gravity over the absent water. The installation was on display at University College of Art, Craft & Design (Konstfack), Stockholm, April 2013.
